From October 18 to 20, 2023, the first Air Force Aviation Innovation Challenge National Finals were successfully held at the Air Force Engineering University. A total of 65 projects from military institutes, local universities, defense industry groups, and private enterprises stood out from 2,341 creative entries and made it to the finals, bringing a unique celebration of aviation creativity.
The Aviation Creativity Challenge is hosted by the Air Force and guided by the Air Force Equipment Department. The competition focuses on the development needs of Air Force equipment, encouraging creative ideas, cross-disciplinary applications, and driving original and disruptive technological breakthroughs. It brings together collective intelligence to tackle challenges, promote technological innovation in the Air Force, and help the People’s Air Force soar high. This year, there were 2,341 entries from military institutes, local universities, defense groups, and private companies, with 15 first prizes and 50 second prizes awarded. The Chengdu Inverted Pendulum project went through fierce competition in the preliminaries, semi-finals, and finals, and its project, 'Bionic-Control Multipurpose Micro Manned Aircraft,' stood out and achieved a national second prize.
